Position Summary:

Deutsche Bank has an immediate opening in Berlin for an Investment Principal in the central Corporate Venture Capital team. The successful candidate will join the central Corporate Venture Capital team to strategically invest in startups with focus on Enterprise Technology and FinTech. Working with cross-functional team, this role is responsible for identifying new strategic investments through a thematic-driven approach, performing investment analysis, and supporting deal processes. Moreover, the candidate will work with existing portfolio to maximize the strategic and financial value from the investment. The candidate must have the ability to work independently and proactively to deliver superior results in a small-team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Execute investment end-to-end from scouting, due diligence to investment that are aligned with DB’s strategic priorities with focus on Enterprise Technology and FinTech from a central Deutsche Bank perspective.

• Manage external relationships to Venture Capital funds, Corporate Venture Capital, Accelerators, strategic partners, and other existing ecosystem relationships.

• Enter new Entrepreneur-in-Residence candidates into the program.

• Support in post-investment monitoring, support of portfolio companies, and generate value creating opportunities to realize strategic value within Deutsche Bank.

• Represent Deutsche Bank and CVC Team externally at conferences as a participant and speaker.

Your skills and experience:

• Multi-annual relevant work experience strongly preferred (e.g., venture capital/corporate venture capital/accelerator or founder) ideally in Enterprise Technology or FinTech area.

• Experienced in assessing and evaluating new business ventures or products from a business, financial and technology basis.

• Strong technical, financial, analytical, writing, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as comfortable sharing and supporting opinions and positions.

• Highly collaborative with proven ability to work as a team player and cross-functionally with other teams and stakeholders.

• Strong network in German and European Venture capital ecosystem (VCs, CVC, Accelerators, etc).
